- Product News (week 30)
Paeonia
It’s the middle of July and summer is in full swing. Peonies are still available, and it’s been a good season thanks to the beautiful, dry weather during spring in the Netherlands.
Peonies bloom for only about three weeks. After that, the entire crop is harvested in these weeks and stored in cold storage. The peonies currently available have been kept in cold storage for several weeks already.
We inspect them carefully before shipping.
However, the quality can no longer be compared to fresh peonies straight from the field. Therefore, as of now, purchasing is at your own risk.
Anthirrinum
In the flow. A beautiful and broad assortment of Dutch-grown varieties is readily available. Friendly prices make the offer even more appealing.
Astilbe
It’s the most beautiful time of the year for Astilbe. There is plenty of choice in colors and varieties. Much of the supply comes from outdoor cultivation, with strong stems and large plumes.
Rubus
The greenhouse season has started. Rubus is now available and will remain available until approximately week 38.
Viburnum opulus 'Compactum'
Currently widely available. Supply continues through week 38.
Nigella
Currently experiencing a short production dip. The first batch came earlier than usual due to the nice weather, while the next batch is still pending. This means temporarily lower supply and rising prices.
Zinnia
This year’s quality is disappointing. There is little attractive product available, limiting the offer and making selection difficult.
Zantedeschia 'Colombe'
Available only in small quantities. 'Avalanche' is currently unavailable.
The shortage has led to record prices at auction for Colombe.
