PRISMA OFFERS UNIFORM COLOURS AND QUALITY
Uniformity in supply is the key to improve the quality awareness of Gladiolus with importing wholesalers and florists. That was the message presented by Prisma during their Flower Pitch at OZ Export.
„Too often customers do not know which variety from which grower they will get when ordering Gladiolus. And that is a pity“, Jan Baltus of Prisma Gladiolus claims when addressing the OZ Export sales staff on Thursday 3 September. Baltus proceeds: „Customers are very aware of all varieties in Tulips and Roses, but unfortunately when it comes to Gladiolus they often just order by colour, unaware of the differences in quality within the product range.“ That is one of the reasons growers like De Ridder and Hulsebosch have united to form the Prisma collective.
Prisma wants not only to promote their own varieties. A higher goal is to improve the popularity of the Gladiolus as a horticultural product group. That means it has to compete with other flower species rather than to battle in a cut throat competition amongst Gladiolus growers who do not share product information or strive for uniformity.
THE REAL PRODUCT
The first step to take is to inform the customers about the different Gladiolus varieties and then supply exactly that variety. This is a task for both growers and exporters. Hence, real colours, real variety names. As a result a satisfied customer who knew what to expect and gets what he wanted.
