FLOWER COUNCIL HOLLAND: TRENDS OF 2018
During the FDF World, Flower Council Holland presented the three trends of 2018. These trends are based on the current Zeitgeist: a search for new answers because old structures have lost their power. As well as the social dilemma we’re in a society that’s becoming more hardened and coarsened.
TREND 1# PUNK REBOOTED
This style trend is about power, freedom and rules. Everyday we obey the rules, but we don’t always want to honor them. That’s why we make our own rules at times, which makes us rebellious and unsettled.
As a result this trend has an anarchistic and rugged look including industrial materials with sharp shapes and rough.
TREND 2# RE-ASSEMBLE
This style trend focuses on the creative combination of new and old elements. Creativity is definite must for this trend, but that won’t be so hard for someone working the flower industry. All the different products, shapes, colours and materials lead to a great contrast to form a playful look.
TREND 3# ROMANCE 3.0
This style trend is a combination of the recovering economy and the digital bubble we’re in. Our view on the world appears magnified, because nowadays we surround ourselves more and more with people and opinions that are the same as ours. Everything is amplified, that’s why the materials are like that too. Which leads to a style trend with a luxurious look-and-feel and rich colors.
