GLADIOLUS IN ALL COLOURS AT CNB SHOW
On the 3rd and 4th of August CNB in Lisse present their annual Gladiolus Event, a must see for flower professionals who are fond of colours.
On Wednesday 3 August I visited this lovely test garden close to the world famous Keukenhof. The test garden was buzzing with busy bumblebees when I was welcomed by a rainbow full of beautifully blooming Gladiolus. Despite some heavy winds I spend half an hour strolling through the beds and enjoying the splendour of this magnificent ‘sword flower’.
After the outdoor experience I was ready for the in-house product show at the CNB headquarters. I was introduced to no less than 140 novelties in all sizes and colours.
BIG AND SMALL GLADIOLUS
Gladiolus are most impressive when they are towering to over a meter tall. When in full bloom the unbelievable colour range makes an impression that simply makes you stop and watch.
But, wait a second, what is with the smaller ones? They are a completely different product! The small Gladiolus (a.k.a. Nanus or Dwarf Gladiolus) are not the immature counterpart of the large ones, but they have an audience of their own. The small varieties have a shorter stem bottom and are perfect for smaller flower arrangements, just like Minigerberas and Small Roses are a distinct group of their own. The group of Mini Gladiolus is rapidly evolving with brand new colours, including multicoloured like the Nymph.
So, just watch my photo report and you do not need any more reasons to get your Gladiolus of Mini Gladiolus today! Check the OZ Export webshop or your vendor for the complete offer.
