WARM COLOURS FOR TRENDY AUTUMN ANTHURIUMS
Anthuriums are trendy flowers these days. They prove themselves suitable for many applications: from just a few flowers in a stylish vase to lush bridal bouquet or decorative Christmas piece. On of the companies that stand out in their production and quality is Fiore Anthuriums.
If the name Fiore Anthuriums does not ring a bell yet, the company brand was only introduced last year, you will remember it from now on. Fiore Anthuriums is a collaboration between four people: Jeroen Ammerlaan and his father Koos, John van Koppen and Dick Oosthoek. They have found their match in their wish to produce perfection. If there are top quality Anthuriums needed then Fiore is the place to go to. Success guaranteed.
ANY COLOUR AVAILABLE
Due to the merger of the two companies, Fiore can deliver virtually any colour. The prove is in the assortment you can see below. “An Anthurium plant lives eight to ten years. Therefore, the growers do regular testing with other new varieties. For example, we have a white, but look for a white with even better specifications in terms of vase life,” says Jeroen Ammerlaan. This constant quality improvement is done in close collaboration with breeder Anthura, supplier of 95% of all novelties that are marketed by Fiore Anthuriums.
Fiore stands for perfection. Only the best flowers leave the company in their own house branded design box. This distinguishes them from the ‘standard’ that is marketed in a box with a flower print. Jeroen Ammerlaan explains: “We strive for perfection. We perform our own stability tests. We aim for a minimum vase life of 30 days. Anthuriums are vulnerable to damage and a low temperature. The ideal storage temperature is between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius. Within the company we have a monitoring system, so we are able to trace any complaint back to its source. For example, each employee puts his or her initials on the packed box. And we provide storage information to traders and transporters.”
The Anthurium needs to be seen as semi-finished product. They are absolutely a user-friendly flower; you can do anything with them. Fiore Anthuriums’ goal is to inspire florists with the right colour in the right season. In the autumn they deliver, e.g. brown Anthuriums. Below are just a few ideas in combination with the Fiore assortment.
HANDLING TIPS FOR ANTHURIUMS
– Cut a small part of the stem with a sharp knife and place the Anthuriums in clean water. After a few days cut another small part of the stem and refresh the water.
– Never place Anthuriums in rooms with temperatures below 15 degrees Celsius. They may turn blue. Do not place them in the sun or in a draft.
– Feel free to combine Anthuriums with other flowers. Anthuriums do not need cut flower food itself, but tolerate every other flower nutrition.
