THE DIFFERENCES IN HYDRANGEA

As mentioned earlier in Autumn and Winter the Hydrangea changes her colour. Most Hydrangea have green, dark red or brown tones. These are the flowers that the grower actually left on the plant to develop into a classic beauty in the greenhouse.

There is plenty of choice when it comes to the shapes of the Hydrangea. You can from choose single or double flowered varieties, globe-shaped Hydrangeas. Hydrangeas with small flowers in the middle and large petals on the edge or there are even Hydrangeas in plume shape out there.

Which variety is your favourite?

HYDRANGEA INSPIRATION BASED ON THE 2018 STYLE TRENDS

Throughout the years styles change and every year is different. Yet, each year there are some highlights that really pop out. Use different varieties of the ‘classic’ Hydrangea to match this year’s floral style trends.

HYDRANGEA TREND #1 PUNK REBOOTED

This style trend is about power, freedom and rules. Every day we obey the rules, but we don’t always like to honour them. That’s why, at times, we make our own rules. Which makes us rebellious and unsettled. Use the Hydrangea in an unorthodox way. With darker shades of purple and pink you and uncommon shaped vases.

HYDRANGEA TREND #2 RE-ASSEMBLE

This style trend focuses on the creative combination of new and old elements. Materials are both new and recycled. Alongside plastics there are natural materials like, paper, cardboard and recycled sheet material. In the garden recycled materials reinforce the nonchalant feel. And with a beautiful Hydrangea you can create a playful look.

HYDRANGEA TREND #3 ROMANCE 3.0

This style trend is a combination of the recovering economy and the digital bubble we’re in. Everything is amplified, that’s why the materials are like that too. Which leads to a style trend with a luxurious look-and-feel and rich colours. What better way to celebrate this trend, then with a luxurious Hydrangea with its rich ‘classic’ colour.

KEEP YOUR HYDRANGEA FIT AND HEALTHY

We all want to enjoy our flowers as long as possible. To keep your Hydrangea fit and healthy we came up with a step-by-step plan for taken care of them:

  1. Cut approximately 2 cm of the stem to maximize water consumption.
  2. When using Hydrangea in your floral design make sure to soak them in cold water for at least an hour before using them.
  3. You don’t want any leaves in the water, make sure to take away the lower leaves.
  4. Select a tall vase to give the flowers the support they need.
  5. Fill the vase with a large amount of water as Hydrangea drink a lot.
  6. Give a little bit of love on daily basis and they will stay fit for around two weeks.

DRY YOUR HYDRANGEA AND ENJOY THEM FOR MONTHS

Even after flowering, Hydrangeas can stay fit for a long time. Dry your classic Hydrangea when they do not absorb water anymore. If the petals rustle when being touched, they’re ready for air-drying.

Simply place them in a vase without water or hang them upside down to let te flowers dry out completely. They will give you many more months of pleasure.

Find you favourite Hydrangea colour and go to our  webshop or app to see our current stock.
