TOP OFF THE SEASON WITH THE BUBBLING BLUE MUSCARI

When thinking of Spring you might not directly think of blue flowers in your shop. Yet the magnificent Muscari, or better known as the Grape Hyacinth, is a sensation in every design.

The Muscari is a small and bell-shaped flower in many different shades of blue, purple and white. Each stem has a compact cluster of flowers. The Muscari is really cute in combination with other seasonal flowers, we love to inspire you with some options.

SPRING INSPIRATION FOR YOUR MAGICAL MUSCARI BOUQUETs

Muscari can be used in all sorts of floral arrangements! Therefore, we came up with three inspiring themes for which you can use this cut flower.

INSPIRATION #1 BRIDAL BOUQUET: SOMETHING BLUE

Add a pop of colour to your bridal bouquet with the lovely Muscari. The small elegant flowers can easily be combined with Spring flowers. For example, with the Ranunculus or Anemone. Or create a bouquet with classic white Roses and some fresh greenery.

INSPIRATION #2 EASTER ARRANGEMENTS WITH MUSCARI

The little blue Muscari flowers are beautiful in Easter arrangements as well. Get in the mood and gather some eggs in your shopping basket. You can find several different eggs in our webshop by Goedegebuure. Use other seasonal Spring flowers like the Narcissus for a pop of colour.

INSPIRATION #3 SMALL BOUQUETS THAT MAKE A BIG IMPRESSION

Smaller cut flowers like the Muscari are easy to bundel in a bouquet. Place a little bouquet on your counter as an inspirational eye-catcher. If you combine the Muscari with some other blue and purple tones, the bouquet can give your shop a real colour explosion. If you want to tone it down a bit, you can use some greens or white flowers. For not only a great view, but also a great fragrance, add some Hyacinths to the mix.

HOW IS MUSCARI PRODUCED?

Family firm Fa. Gebr. Pletting is one of the flower nurseries that specialises in unusual bulb and flower crops. One of the unusual flower bulbs is cut-flower Muscari. What makes the Muscari from family nursery Pletting so special? They give a lot of love to all their flowers and have a special treatment for the flowers, which ensures a Muscari vase life up to 5-6 days.

To produce some of the best quality Muscari, weeks pass by. The process begins in Autumn, when the bulbs get a cold treatment. After this treatment the bulbs are placed in a container and full containers are stored in a chiller. During the next period the bulbs produce roots and yellow or red shoots. The colour of the shoots depends on the variety.

When the shoots are out a number of containers are moved to a light and warm greenhouse. After two weeks the flowers are ripe and the flowers are put in a shed. In the shed the flowers are picked and processed.
